ALTERNATIVES FOR A CLEANER AND MORE ENERGY FUTURE

Liquefied natural gas (LNG)

Liquefied Natural Gas is natural gas in the liquid phase, it is characterized by presenting a temperature of -162ºC, reducing its volume to a scale of 1/600 compared to its gas phase, being odorless and colorless and not being toxic or corrosive.

Hidrógeno (H₂)

Hydrogen as an energy source is mainly produced by electrolysis. Electricity or other energy is used to split the water molecule into oxygen and hydrogen. Later, the electrical energy remains stored as chemical energy in the hydrogen molecule. This energy can be stored and used on demand.

This type of energy is obtained from any type of primary energy. If this energy is renewable, then we will obtain the well-known green hydrogen.

Carbon capture, use and storage in electricity generation (CCUS)

Carbon capture, storage and use (CCUS) technology is the set of processes that seeks to reduce carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, capturing and storing it safely for future use. Not only does it offer one more solution to the greenhouse gas reduction policy, it also gives the possibility of using this compound in hydrocarbon recovery processes or reintroducing it into the production chain as a raw material.
